Summer ’18 Shoe Guide

Summer Shoe Guide

It is officially May 1 and I have to say… it finally feels like winter is over! The weather in NYC is supposed to hit 80 degrees this week and I could not be happier! Since we’ve had such a chilly spring, I haven’t been able to wear any of my summer shoes yet, but now that it’s warming up I’m so excited to switch out the boots and switch into some sandals!

Every summer I like to stock up on a few essential shoes like my wear-to-work flats, my weekend sneakers, and my everyday sandals. I also like to throw in a few trendy pairs for going out with friends. Today I wanted to share all the shoes that I’ll be living in all summer long. I’m pretty sure these shoes will cover any event from work, to brunch, or even just running errands. That’s why I wanted to share these favorite picks with my readers! Since everyone has different tastes and different budgets, I also found similar options for each in all different price points. I hope you enjoy! And if you fall in love with any of these shoes like I did, everything is linked below so you can easily shop.

The Platform Espadrille

I was sooo excited when these wedges came in the mail and I realized how comfortable they are! I know the heel looks a little crazy, but I promise they are soo so comfy and easy to walk in. I can’t wait to pair these with skinny jeans for date night or with a fun romper for brunch.

The Flat Espadrille

Ok so the minute I saw these sandals online I knew I had to have them. They are just too adorable and will go with just about any outfit! I’ll definitely be pairing them with all my favorite summer dresses, and they’ll be perfect for any weekend getaways. They’re also super comfortable so I know they’ll be my go-to shoe all summer. Sadly this color is sold out right now in most sizes, but if you add to your wish list they might re-stock! Also I found some great look-alikes if you can’t wait.

The White Mule

Sometimes I find it so hard to find the perfect blend of professional and trendy for my work outfits. These shoes make it so easy! I lived in my black mules all fall and winter at work, and now I’m so excited to swap them out for this summer version! These shoes look great with work pants and dresses, and I even love pairing them with jeans on casual fridays. They instantly help you look put-together, but feel effortless!

The Blush Sneaker

Living in NYC I walk a LOT. That’s why I always need a few pairs of comfortable sneakers. I was really wearing down my Adidas Superstars from last summer, so when I started looking to replace them, I found this pink pair and knew it was the perfect update. Blush has been such a huge color in fashion for years, and this summer it seems like it’ll be as strong as ever. Since the pink is so light that it’s almost a neutral, these shoes go with almost any color. I’ll be wearing these shoes every weekend with shorts and a t-shirt while I’m running errands.

A Touch of Gingham

So every wardrobe needs a nice balance of practical shoes, but from time to time you just need to splurge on a trendy piece. Gingham has been HUGE this season and I’ve definitely bought lots of clothing pieces with the print. If you don’t want to be overwhelming with the print, though, a pair of gingham shoes is the perfect way to add just a little touch of the trend. Like the other espadrilles I mentioned in this post, this platform wedge is soo comfortable and easy to walk in, despite the heel. I’ll be wearing it with neutral colors to not distract from the print, and a statement earring for another touch of fashion.
