Perfect Date-Night Tops (And How To Style Them)

Dating in the summer is just more fun. You have more options of what to do – rooftop bars, picnics in the park, froyo/ice cream – and you have more options of what to wear! I love any excuse to dress up so of course dates fall into that category. But deciding what to wear on a date can also be super stressful, especially if it’s the first date! That’s why I wanted to share some of my favorite fun & flirty tops that I think would be perfect for date night and offer some ideas on how to style them.

When I saw this top online I knew I had to buy it immediately. I always gravitate toward off-the-shoulder tops and I also love the bow detail on the sleeves. I paired it with white jeans, shoes, and earrings for a fresh, summery feel and of course brought along my favorite summer bag!

Sometimes dates can spring up in the middle of the week so I wanted to include an option for an after-work date. Being someone who works in an office all day, I always struggle to find outfits that are fashionable while also being appropriate for work. I feel like this top is the perfect balance. It’s definitely great for the office but also the tie-waist is super flattering so you can look your best for your after-work plans! I would keep the rest of the outfit simple in black & white to keep the focus on the top. Oh and if you’re not crazy about the pink, it comes in six colors!

Some people are more comfortable in pants, but some are more comfortable in lighter clothing, especially when it’s hot. That’s why I wanted to style an outfit with a tank & shorts. These white eyelet shorts are soo pretty and would look adorable with a light, easy tank. I have this tank in light pink and it’s always one of my go-to’s because it’s so easy and simple but makes you look so put together at the same time. When I saw how many colors this tank comes in, I really loved the idea of the light blue top and then adding a pop of pink in the accessories. And then of course pairing it with an espadrille wedge because I am just too obsessed with that trend right now.Memorial Day Outfit 4 (1)

So I’ll be honest, I love wearing color but since my skin is so fair I try to stick to pastels and other light colors. That being said, when I saw this bright orange lace top it was just too cute to ignore. Since the top has a lot going on, I liked the idea of dressing it down with some ripped jeans and basic sandals. I also love orange and gold together, so I think this top would look great with gold accessories like these gold layered bracelets. I also included this gold eyeshadow palette from Lorac which is my favorite palette in the world.

I’ve always loved polka dots but recently I have been even more obsessed with them. Whether its a top, dress, or skirt, if it has polka dots on it I’m trying it on. I’ve also been loving the wrap-top trend so this shirt is kind of perfect. Since the dots on the top are a light brown, I thought it would look pretty to keep the accessories in this brown & gold family and then add a dark denim skirt to balance it all out. I love how the black, brown, and gold are mixing in this look.
