Philadelphia Weekend Trip: Outfit Roundup

Last weekend Jeff and I decided to get out of the city for a night and take a trip down to Philly! One of the things I love most about living in NYC is how close you are to so many other great cities. Philly takes us less than two hours to get to, so it’s always a great option when we want to do a last-minute trip. I was also super excited to visit some of the holiday markets and get into the Christmas spirit!

We stayed at the Hilton Penns Landing, which I absolutely loved because we had a beautiful view of the water but we were still within walking distance of downtown. We found an awesome deal on Hotel Tonight, which I highly recommend if you ever need to book a last-minute trip! They have awesome deals if you need a hotel fast.

Since were only there for one night, we had to prioritize where we wanted to go. First, we headed to Dilworth Park for the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market. There were lots of stands selling all types of unique gifts, and there was also an ice skating rink! It was such a fun place to explore and walk around, and there were some beautiful light displays that were perfect for photo opps.

Once we were done exploring the park, we walked down Market Street and did some shopping on the walk back to our hotel. Once we got back, I changed for dinner and we headed back out to explore the Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest which was only about a 5-minute walk from our hotel. If you go to Philly this winter, I HIGHLY recommend you check this place out because it was so cool! Along with an ice skating rink and arcade, they had fire pits where you could sit around while sipping hot chocolate, or beer if you prefer. They also had a beautiful tree and decoration. If you have a special event, you can also rent a “warming cabin” for your group where you can hang out and feel like you’re in a ski lodge!

By this point we were hungry for dinner and were both in the mood for Thai food. We found a place online called Tamarind that said it was BYOB, so we picked up a bottle of wine and headed over. The food was absolutely delicious and was very reasonably-priced, and we loved being able to pair it with our own wine bottle. I would definitely go back!

Overall it was such a fun 24-hour trip, and definitely got me in the holiday spirit! I hope these recommendations help if you’re planning a trip to Philadelphia anytime soon.
