Step 1: Moisturize!
Before I apply any makeup, I make sure my face is hydrated so the makeup goes on evenly. Lately I’ve been using the Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer from First Aid Beauty. This is one of my favorite moisturizers because it is GREAT for sensitive skin. It’s fragrance-free and has never caused my to breakout! It’s especially good for summer months because it’s very lightweight and doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin.
Step 2: Concealer
I decided to test out the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer thinking that I would only use it on the weekends when I wanted extra coverage. It quickly became my favorite makeup product and now I use it daily. It has amazing coverage but also somehow has a lightweight formula that easily blends into the face so I end up using it as my all-over coverage. I apply it under each eye, and then use a damp beauty blender to to blend it into the rest of my face.
Step 3: Mascara
For the past few months I’ve been using the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and I’ve always liked it alright, but it wasn’t until recently when I added in this Lancome mascara primer that I FINALLY felt like I had found the perfect lash routine! I have always hated how clumpy my eyelashes get when I use mascara and this primer finally solved my problems! Plus, it keeps my mascara set all day so that it doesn’t flake off and end up under my eyes. On my bottom lashes, I use the travel size of this Smashbox Super Fan Mascara because I find the small brush easier to work with.
Step 4: Brows
Filling in my eyebrows is the most recent addition to my makeup routine, but it has made such a difference! Since I’m not an expert, I wanted something that would be easy to use. I also wanted something that would look natural, rather than looking too dark or dramatic. This Anastasia Brow Pencil was the answer! One side has a pencil to fill in your brows, and the other has a brush to shape them. It’s perfect for a beginner!
Step 5: Blush
I recently discovered this Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush from Tarte and I am obsessed! I have very fair skin, so I’m always afraid that blush will look silly on me, but this one is perfect! I use the shade “exposed” and the first layer comes out soft so it’s great for fair skin, but then the color is very build-able so it could really work for a lot of different skin tones. I apply it with this Becca Perfecting Brush, which applies it really evenly without looking too concentrated in one spot.
Step 6: Lipgloss
I have raved about this Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment too many times so I’ll try to keep it brief:
- Beautiful, natural color
- Super moisturizing
- SPF protection!
